MFUWE
LODGE is hidden away among the huge ebony and fig
trees on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in the South
Luangwa National Park.
|
|
The unique lodge with 18 luxury
en-suite, thatched chalets, each with a private decking
area.
The deck area in front of the lounge accommodates the
swimming pool which also overlooks the main lagoon and is a
great area for guests to relax between game drive,
walks and meals.

|
The open-plan central lodge facility incorporates reception,
lounge, dining and bar areas, under a thatch roof supported
by palm poles and dominated by two impressive chimneys at
opposite ends. This cool and airy central meeting place is
the heart of the lodge.
|
The central meeting place opens onto a broad timber deck
that cantilevers overlooking the main lagoon.
From the
comfort of the lodge guests may view some of Africa's
majestic wildlife as animals come down to drink.
Hippos, antelope, crocs and countless species of birds are
plentiful in this area. And the elephants often pay a visit
to reception.
Each chalet is decorated with superb attention to detail and
is equipped with everything from refrigerator to shampoo and
mosquito repellent. |

|
|
Each sunken bath has its own private view of the lagoon.
What better way to relax and forget the pressures of city
life than to soak in the sights and sounds of the African
bush? |
Another distinguishing feature of the lodge is the meeting
room which an host up to 40 people. Secluded from the lodge
and built on stilts, it too overlooks a lagoon.
Like other
facilities at Mfuwe, the meeting room opens out onto its own
private timber deck.

Game drives and walks are conducted by an experienced and
knowledgeable team of guides. Guests set off at first light
or in the late afternoon when the wildlife is most active.
