Perfect for small private groups, this isolated, rustic bushcamp delivers an authentic walking safari experience.
The newest camp in our collection, Zungulila is charming and rustic but every bit as comfortable as our other camps, with breathtaking views onto the Kapamba river and an expansive plain where natural springs attract huge herds of game. Dedicated exclusively to walking safaris, Zungulila is eminently peaceful and available for private parties of four guests or more.
Guides will lead you through untamed wilderness, along the banks of the sparkling Kapamba River, round a final bend and towards a small gathering of thatched tents on the side of a raised knoll.
Up to eight guests can enjoy the serenity of Zungulila in four spacious tents. Built under thatch roofs, each shaded tent has its own private bamboo veranda with immense views over an impressive variety of wildlife – from thirsty elephant at the springs and flocks of birds on the river, to prowling lion and large herds of buffalo on the grassy plains. With homely interiors, ensuite bathrooms, and hot-and-cold running water, you can enjoy your creatures and your creature comforts in this classic bushcamp. Three of the tents have twin beds (queen-sized beds), while one has a king-sized double. Zungulila is open from June to October.
If you long to explore Africa as it used to be, then come to Zungulila. With no roads in the area, activities are purely focused around walking. Our expert guides will lead you on foot through some of the park’s most untouched wilderness. As night drives are not possible, instead we invite you to join your hosts round the campfire for a drink, before recounting the day’s adventures over a starlit supper on a sandbank in the river.
